Servings: 5
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp soy sauce (with a little salt)
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 piece of pork tenderloin or chicken, cut into thin strips
- Sesame oil
- 1 red pepper and 1 yellow pepper, cut into thin sticks
- 2 carrots, diced
- 3 eggs, lightly beaten
- 4 cups cooked basmati rice
- Bean sprouts or lentil sprouts or other sprouts
- 2 fresh onions, chopped
- Sesame seeds for serving
- Extra soy sauce for serving
Instructions
- Start by heating 1 tbsp oil in a wok. Brown the meat, stirring for 4-5 minutes, then add the onion and sauté for 5-7 minutes until golden. Next, add the carrots and peppers and let them soften lightly.
- Push the vegetables to one side of the wok and add a bit more oil to the empty space. Pour in the beaten eggs and let them cook for 2 minutes, stirring and breaking them into pieces.
- Mix all the ingredients together—meat, vegetables, and eggs—and add the soy sauce and oyster sauce (available in large supermarkets in the Asian products section).
Add the sprouts, fresh onions, and sesame seeds. Finally, stir in the cooked rice and cook for 1-2 minutes on the heat. If needed, add a bit more soy sauce or oyster sauce. Serve hot with extra soy sauce on the side.
