Ingredients
- 2.5 cups water or milk
- 1 cup sour Trahanas
- 50g butter
- 100g feta cheese
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- Some chili flakes (boukovo)
- Some salt
Instructions
- You can use water or milk to cook the Trahanas.
- In a small pot, add the water, butter, and bring to a boil.
- Add the Trahanas and cook on low heat for 15 minutes until the Trahanas soften.
- Then, add crumbled feta and remove from heat.
- Sprinkle with chili flakes and salt. If the feta is salty, you may not need to add more salt.
- In a separate pan, heat olive oil and sauté the onion for 7-8 minutes on medium heat. Add the vinegar to the Trahanas.
- Pour the hot sautéed onion mixture into the Trahanas and stir.
- Serve the Trahanas with feta in bowls, and if desired, sprinkle a little chili flakes on top of each plate.
