PREPARATION TIME

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 cup wheat
  2. 3 cups water
  3. ½ tsp salt
  4. 2 tbsp yogurt
  5. 1-2 tbsp honey
  6. nuts
  7. dried fruits

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Place the wheat, water, and salt in a pot over high heat. Once it begins to boil, lower the heat to medium-low and simmer with the lid on for about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Most of the water will be absorbed, and the wheat will be cooked al dente.
  2. Drain and set aside. In a small non-stick pan or a small pot, pour 1-2 tablespoons of honey and warm it over low heat.
  3. Once it warms up and becomes liquid, add the nuts and dried fruits and stir. Serve the wheat with 2 tablespoons of yogurt and the warm honey mixture.
  4. If you’re fasting, omit the yogurt and add extra fresh fruits, such as apple, orange, or pomegranate seeds. This quantity of wheat makes more than 3 servings. Keep it in the refrigerator for 3-4 days and use it in the following days, not only for breakfast but also in salads or soups.
