PREPARATION TIME
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup wheat
- 3 cups water
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp yogurt
- 1-2 tbsp honey
- nuts
- dried fruits
INSTRUCTIONS
- Place the wheat, water, and salt in a pot over high heat. Once it begins to boil, lower the heat to medium-low and simmer with the lid on for about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Most of the water will be absorbed, and the wheat will be cooked al dente.
- Drain and set aside. In a small non-stick pan or a small pot, pour 1-2 tablespoons of honey and warm it over low heat.
- Once it warms up and becomes liquid, add the nuts and dried fruits and stir. Serve the wheat with 2 tablespoons of yogurt and the warm honey mixture.
- If you’re fasting, omit the yogurt and add extra fresh fruits, such as apple, orange, or pomegranate seeds. This quantity of wheat makes more than 3 servings. Keep it in the refrigerator for 3-4 days and use it in the following days, not only for breakfast but also in salads or soups.
